Ihre Schwerpunkte in Lehre und Forschung sind globale Gerechtigkeit, Menschenrechte, Demokratie und Dekolonisation. 2017 wurde sie mit dem K\u00e4the-Leichter-Preis f\u00fcr herausragende Leistungen in der Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung sowie f\u00fcr die Unterst\u00fctzung der Frauenbewegung und die Umsetzung der Gleichstellung der Geschlechter ausgezeichnet.
