Jin Haritaworn is Associate Professor in Gender, Race & Environment at York University in Toronto. Haritaworn situates himself in the tradition of activist scholarship that seeks to be in the service of social movements. Haritaworn's publications include Queer Lovers and Hateful Others: Regenerating Violent Times and Places, as well as Queer Necropolitics, Queering Urban Justice and Marvellous Grounds. Jin has made foundational contributions on both sides of the Atlantic in diverse fields, including gender, sexuality and transgender studies, critical race/ethnic studies and urban studies, and has helped shape various concepts and debates, including intersectionality, transnational and postcolonial sexualities, gentrification, queer space, criminalisation, homonationalism and queer-of-colour critiques and archives.
